Giving customers control
As the distant fourth internet service provider, and with broadband largely a commodity, Slingshot had to break out.
Their move to a flexible billing offering was our strategic opportunity to reposition Slingshot as the ISP that puts the ‘service’ back into ‘service provider’. We developed “You Call The Shots” to be not just an advertising platform, but also a North Star for developing products and services that give customers choice and control.
We created a character to front the brand - a puppet built by the Jim Henson Company - a low-cost, distinctive and ownable brand asset to deliver campaigns and promotions. We involved the public by inviting them to name our character and build engagement. Slingshot Stu took off delivering acquisition growth and reducing churn.
